Fly Fishing In Greece
17/06/2016Teaching
08/08/2016I fished the river Derwent this week at Chatsworth House Estate with a couple of Game Angling Instructor colleagues, Pete Lax and Simon Fish. We are now well into summer fishing, which is never a good time to fish, but I will never turn down the offer to fish this beautiful beat. There was no sign of any hatches on first inspection of the water. So I proceeded to fish using a variety of nymph’s and what a pleasant surprise I had, eighteen fish to the net and I also lost half a dozen good size fish. I never expected fishing to be so good in these hot humid conditions. I took all the fish sub surface using a variety of nymph patterns. The fly of the day was a pink Czech nymph which was guilty of taking above a dozen of the fish that came to the net. What a great days fishing and in a beautiful setting, can’t wait to go back.
