I had a  good day fishing on the river Tweed in Scotland on the Horncliffe beat.  The ghillie Stephen Robinson worked very hard for us all day trying to put us over fish, but unfortunately there was not a lot of fish showing. I did manage to pick up a fresh sea trout in the afternoon which seemed to coincide  with high tide, but we will never know for sure if the fish  came in on that tide ?

I thought the beat had some good runs and  it was in a pretty setting, I will go back to  fish it again. The set up I used on the day was the Guideline 13 ft LPXE  8/9 rod paired with a Guideline Scandi comp FHS1 line which works very well together.  This rod is a favourite of mine and casts shooting heads with ease.
